Tint My Ride is a vehicle window tinting company based at 3 Foxhunters Rd, Whitley Bay, NE25 8UG. For the purposes of UK data protection law (UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018), we are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

When you contact us, request a quote or book an appointment, we may collect and store the following information:

- Photographs of your vehicle taken during or after work, where used to demonstrate our services

- Arrange and manage appointments
- Carry out the work you have asked us to do
- Keep records of the work completed, including for guarantee purposes
- Contact you about aftercare, guarantees or follow-up work
- Meet legal, accounting and insurance obligations
Lawful basis for processing
We only use your personal information where we have a lawful basis to do so. In most cases this is because the processing is necessary to provide the service you have requested (a contract or steps before entering one), because we have a legitimate interest in running and improving our business and keeping records of work carried out, or because we are required to by law, for example for tax and accounting records.
How long we keep your information
We keep enquiry and booking records for as long as needed to manage your appointment, honour our guarantee and meet our legal and accounting obligations. Routine enquiries that do not lead to a booking are normally kept for no more than 24 months. Records relating to completed work, invoices and guarantees may be kept for up to 7 years where required for accounting and tax purposes. When information is no longer needed, it is securely deleted.
Who we share your information with
We do not sell your personal information. We only share it where necessary with:
- Service providers who support our business, such as our website hosting and email providers
- Accountants, insurers or professional advisers where required
- Law enforcement, regulators or other authorities where we are legally required to do so
Photographs and marketing
We take pride in our work and may photograph vehicles to show examples of completed tinting, for example on our website, Google profile or social media pages. Vehicle registration plates are obscured where practical. If you would prefer your vehicle not to appear in our marketing, just let us know and we will remove any images on request.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law, you have the right to:
- Ask for a copy of the personal information we hold about you
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete
- Ask us to delete your information where there is no good reason for us to keep it
- Object to or restrict how we use your information in certain circumstances
- Ask us to transfer your information to you or another provider where technically possible
- Withdraw consent where we rely on consent
